Chef Tony

Hi! I’m Tony. Originally born in Orange County, California, in Westminster where little Saigon is at, I moved to Philadelphia when I was about 11 years old. I dropped out of college and worked for my parents at their little cafe restaurant under the blue line in Kensington, Philadelphia.

The cafe was originally named Cafe Thanh Thanh, which later became Pho Ga Thanh Thanh, because we ended up serving what we did best! And that is Pho Ga (Chicken Pho).

My mom has been cooking her whole life. From cooking in Vietnam for her family, to cooking on the streets to provide for her family, and to a small California Vietnamese restaurant in the 80’s and 90’s, working in the kitchen,  she opened her first restaurant in Philadelphia in 2002. She has been cooking there for over 20 years, and I am incredibly lucky to have spent almost 20 years of life working and spending time with her.

My mom loves to cook and to me, she is the very best at it. I hope to continue her legacy and serve Chicken Pho the way she taught me, and to make every customer feel the warmth and love that comes from her cooking.
